ANEC preparing for weekend wind storm

A&N Electric Cooperative (ANEC) is preparing for possible outages associated with a coastal wind storm forecasted to move into our area beginning tomorrow, March 2.

Cooperative crews will be on standby starting tomorrow and will be ready to be dispatched to restore power if outages occur during the duration of the storm.

According to the National Weather Service, a Nor’easter-type storm will affect the area starting Friday with impacts lasting through the weekend.

ANEC Crews Continue to Restore Scattered Outages

A&N Electric Cooperative (ANEC) is reporting that under 100 outages remain during our restoration efforts as of 2 p.m. The outages are scattered in both Northampton and Accomack Counties.

Drifting snow on secondary roads continues to impede our crews’ ability to reach some outages swiftly. Crews will continue making repairs until all power is restored.

“Our crews have been doing a phenomenal job restoring power to members under some harsh winter weather conditions,” said Brian Charnock, ANEC’s Director of Operations and Construction Services.

A&N Preparing For Winter Storm

A&N Electric Cooperative (ANEC) is preparing for severe weather associated with a winter storm expected to move into the area tonight. Forecasters are calling for 4-8 inches of snow to potentially fall along the Eastern Shore of Virginia, beginning tonight and through Thursday morning.

All A&N Electric Cooperative crews will be on standby beginning today and will be ready to be dispatched to restore power if outages occur.
