Every two years, a survey is sent to cooperative homeowners to collect information about energy use. The responses received from the survey help us modify existing programs or inspire new ones.

A&N Electric Cooperative Competes in Regional Lineman Rodeo

A&N Electric Cooperative recently competed in the 17th annual Gaff-N-Go Equipment Operators and Lineman’s Rodeo.

Held May 10-11 at Meadow Event Park in Doswell, Va., the rodeo attracted hundreds of co-op friends, family members and spectators who watched more than 150 talented lineworkers from six states ply their trade in a friendly yet competitive environment.

Telephone Scam Alert Targets Co-op Members

A&N Electric Cooperative has received several reports that a phone scam is targeting co-op members in our service territory.

The telephone scammer contacts a co-op member claiming to represent the cooperative. The scammer then urges the co-op member to pay their bill right away or they will be faced with an immediate service disconnection. Members should also be aware that the scammers will direct them to use a fraudulent 1-800 number that contains a copy of an A&N Electric Cooperative recorded greeting.

Free Seedling Giveaway

A&N Electric Cooperative is partnering with the Virginia Department of Forestry to distribute free seedlings on Saturday, April 27.

A group will be distributing the seedlings at Eastern Shore Community College from 8 a.m. to noon that day.

There will be a wide assortment of seedlings available, including pollinator species, several types of oak, chestnut, apple and crabapple, just to name a few.

Telephone scam is targeting A&N Electric Co-op members

A&N Electric Cooperative has received reports that a phone scam targeting co-op members in the service territory.

The telephone scammer contacts a co-op member claiming to represent the cooperative. The scammer tells them they owe money and that the member needs to pay right away or their service will be cut off immediately. The scammer instructs the member to pay the amount over the phone using prepaid cards.

Wayde Fowler Earns Electric Cooperative 2019 Unsung Virginian Award

Onancock, Va. – Wayde N. Fowler of Onancock has received the 2019 Unsung Virginian Award, presented by the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC).

In its 51st year as a statewide honor, the Unsung Virginian Award recognizes outstanding citizens for services rendered to the Commonwealth without thought of personal gain. 

Electric Cooperative Leaders Visit State Legislators

Richmond ― More than 150 electric cooperative leaders from across Virginia gathered in Richmond Jan. 29 for Legislative Day activities sponsored by the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives.

The Legislative Day event is held each year and gives electric cooperative leaders the opportunity to visit their state delegates and senators and discuss pending legislation of interest to electric cooperatives.
