Payment Assistance

Your county’s Department of Social Services is a great place to start if you still need assistance paying your electric service bill. There are several programs available throughout the year which may help with your bills. Each program has specific requirements and may only be offered during certain portions of the year. To apply, call your local social services department or you can apply for select programs online at CommonHelp

Programs available include:

  • Crisis Assistance
  • Energy Assistance (Fuel and Cooling)
  • Members Helping Members (must call your Department of Social Services)
  • Accomack Interfaith Crisis Council (For Accomack County citizens only; Call Accomack Department of Social services)
  • Northampton Social Ministries (For Northampton County citizens only; call Northampton Department of Social Services)
