DORIAN UPDATE: Outage Restoration Complete
A&N Electric Cooperative completed outage restorations related to Hurricane Dorian early Friday afternoon. Crews began working on the first outage calls early Friday morning.
As of 3 p.m., the cooperative restored power to the last few members experiencing an outage due to heavy winds and rain from Dorian.
“Our crews were ready to address any outages associated with the storm as soon as they possibly could,” said Brian Charnock, Director of Operations and Construction Services for the cooperative.
The most members who experienced a power outage at one time during the storm peaked at about 400 at 1 p.m. Scattered outages affected members in both Accomack and Northampton counties during the day.
“We’ve been very fortunate up to this point,” said Charnock. “Our distribution system has fared very well through the storm and we’ve been able to address the few scattered outages very quickly.”
The cooperative is asking members to report any suspected storm damage that could pose a safety hazard. Crews will be available through the weekend to address any delayed affects from storm damage. Members should report these issues by using the SmartHub app or by calling (757) 787-9750. In the event that your power goes out again, don’t hesitate to contact the cooperative.
