Cooperative Prepared for Local Effects of Henri

A&N Electric Cooperative is prepared to respond to any outages associated with Tropical Storm Henri later today.

The storm is expected to strengthen into a hurricane as it tracks north, but should remain east of our area, according to the National Weather Service.

Some scattered thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and evening. While the most severe weather is expected to pass well off the East Coast of the region, these associated thunderstorms have the potential to cause some power outages in our area.

If you experience a power outage please report it by using the cooperative’s SmartHub app or by calling 757-787-9750.

Swells from Henri will persist at least through the weekend. These swells could cause life-threatening surf and rip currents. All mariners are urged to exercise avoidance plans and to also monitor the latest forecasts from the National Hurricane Center over the next couple days.
